there is no piansit any where who ean present an exquisitely turned vase by liszt and then swing into fats waller's swift-tempoed aint misbehavin the vasco dagama club for tlie first time in the post war pageant series fell down to second place their entry a colour ful painstakingly worked coronation ring probably lost points because it's coronation theme was not inharmony with the theme of this year's pageant — the spirit of easter the coronation was last year's theme in private life this distin guished star is the wife of u s congressman adam clayton powell who is also pastor of abyssinia baptist chureh — one of the largest in chief patron of the pageant was the mayor of hamilton tne wor e r williams m.c.p who had as his guests in the reviewing stand on front street his excellency the governor sir alexander hood and several other civic military and visiting digna taries flanking the stand were bleachers especially re served for the thousands of visitors who enthusiastically cheered as the parade went by ie world miss scott will be accompanied here by her son adam clayton powell hi and her private secretary other entries which carried away ribbons included that of mr austin bean of somerset who depicted a miniature pipe organ advertising his sandys general repair shop andrew tatem and his floral kite jack patton and his youthful buddies and their donkey cart ;
