continuous from 2:30 we like the release by the bermuda cricket board of control through its public relations officer mr percival ratteray we always felt that the board was not as bad as some people tried to paint it it couln't possibly be with so many good and noble people on it most of them had had wide experience in handling the problems of cricket a lot more for instance than the bca who ha had very little and who has been one of the board's severest critics the last cracks were directed at all of the best coloured cricket and since our remarks last wednesday we have discovered more information which leads us to believe that the people who made the nasty cracks about the people who have done far more for cricket than they have don't really know what they are talking about instead of criticising the coloured clubs so much they should try and be more helpful they are talking big and we wonder how they could have the nerve to do that and feel happy about it in the light of their record in bermuda cricket and membership to the board of control if the board has been useless and controlled nothing it was useless from the start since the constitution has never been changed since the b c a helped to arrange it football boots have arrived at w j boyle r son come in and see for yourself our new continental type boots 52 and 75 also in stock is a good range of children's boots surprising that the board of control had nothing to say about the rude things said about it by one of its members that is no way to work and it just goes to prove that those who have least to shout about do most of it - matinee lesday march 5th 1957 for the new opera today house 1:1 5 and 7:45 carnival charity dance at the gordon robinson is asking for the financial report from the b c b c on the matches which it arranged against the m c c when they were here in 1953 mr ratteray should call a press conference and invite only gordon robinson to come it could be helpful cocktail bar and restaurant leopards club music by norman smith rock hudson and mis cornell borchers at your hostess • never say goodbye but to get back to the board we have found it diffi cult to refrain criticising it because of its inactivity and lack of support to cricket it is a reputable board with a lot of honourable men serving on it mr warren simmons is a well known and highly respected man and official of the somerset c c he has ddne a lot for cricket in his time and is still willing to give his valu able time to render it more service mr ratteray who has had long experience in association with the game ia bermuda mr w f hayword is another who should be valuable to the board for all the good work he has done to help the sport here mr rankin may be a lot more helpful than many b c a members or officials iloyalty inn maria benn also 3:00 & 9:30 fred astairs and leslie caron bus go mangrove bay daddy long legs dine with us and try our most talked about meal ham steak with pineapple every also 4:45 & 9:45 tyrone power and susan hayward pembroke hamilton club four deuces also floor show we have the smith's mr norwood and sam porgy who are both well known locally for their interest and ability we are certain they don't have - to be afraid of their place on the board or apologetic about it mr fielding swan and mr cuthbert packwood are just as well versed in the affairs of this game unfortunately the secretary of the board is the only one who hasn't had close for reservations phone 8412 members and friends are * untamed invited saturday thursday friday dean martin and association with the game we are told that this can 1 ie a disadvantage in a secretary to a board of this kind but we hope that the rest of the board will keep mr murray up to date we understand that mr ferreira and mr dun stand have been mixed up in cricket for a long time and can be regarded as having had some experience in connec tion with it jerry lewis every sunday mght hollywood or bust ever popular and and arthur franz neville brand norman smith's band mr stanton wainwright and mr champ hunt are hard workers in the interest of the game in spite of the fact that we were surprised that the somers isles cricket league had nothing to say about the outburst at the bca meeting last week and no mention of it by champ hunt we have to give the league credit for doing a really fine job champ hunt brings a wealth of experience to the board and his wide connections with the game should be very valuable to the board and what it intends to do for bobby ware is missing supported by complete bermuda
