saturday a three day community fair will take place at the devonshire recreation field next thursday friday and saturday when it is hoped to raise funds for the establish ment of a youth centre in the groom as bridesmaids this has been a stirring year for the commoh\miith after another leaders of colonial countries have been coming to london to negotiate the final or near-final steps towards sell overnment and independence the world has had conclusive proof of the wisdom of britain's policy of granting control or their affairs to her charges when they are able and ready to take one under the terms of that notice every male british subject who is ordinarilv resident in bermuda must unless he is an exempted person apply to be registered for military training within seven days after he attains the age of 18 years the centre is no idle dream the secretary emphasised in progressive mid-western states it had been found to be the most effective weapon in the combat ting of juvenile delin quency we at devonshire are thinking o a building not necessarily an architectural masterpiece but functional ; also playgrounds where our children may play within the safe confines of a fence
